Tropical-Weight Waxed Canvas

Built for warm, wet places where you want coverage without feeling wrapped in a sleeping bag. There’s no full-body liner to keep weight and heat down, but you still get the performance of waxed cotton: water-repellent, breathable, and naturally resistant to stink. When the years add up, you can re-wax it and keep the fabric working instead of replacing the whole poncho.

Brass Snaps, Built to Age

Solid brass snap buttons are mounted with leather washers for long-term strength and cleaner wear over time. Three snaps per side let you create sleeves and close the sides when the weather turns ugly, reducing flap and driving rain. It’s the kind of hardware that doesn’t chip like plated stuff—just settles into a proper patina and keeps doing its job for years.

Seamless Shoulder Shield

Cut as one continuous piece of 8oz waxed canvas, the Pacific Poncho removes seams from the shoulder/body zone using our in-house folding system. That means fewer leak points, less chafe under straps, and double-layer protection right where rain and abrasion hit hardest. The built-in shoulder shaping also creates a natural runoff path, so water sheds fast instead of soaking in.

Storm Hood Fit System

The new Storm Hood is more fitted than the Ranger and adjusts front and rear for a proper seal in sideways rain. The rear bungee + cord-locker setup lets you cinch down and fine-tune tension by changing how the cord runs through the four tension loops. Best bit: the rear adjustment is exposed, so it’s easier to service or repair if you ever manage to break it.

AquaGuard Zip Front

AquaGuard® front zip gives you quick on/off without opening up a big wet gap down the chest. It’s a simple, hard-wearing solution for tropical downpours where you’re constantly moving between “on” and “off.” Paired with the poncho’s shoulder runoff shaping, the front closure is built to keep rain out while you’re hiking, riding, fishing, or just getting chores done outdoors.

Waxing canvas is a natural way or protecting the fabric and whoever is under it. The wax finish causes water to bead off instead of soaking into the fibres. Waxed canvas is easy to take care of. The ensure the longevity of the canvas we recommend you re-wax it at least every 12 months. This keeps the product water-resistant, mould resistant and it also binds the fibres together.

  • We ship using Australia Post from Perth Western Australia. That means items shipped to the Eastern States of Australia can take between 6-14 business days. If you are not sure, please chat with us.
