A Proper Everyday Tote

The Scrambler is a substantial zip-top tote built for commuting, travel and overnight use. Its 40cm-wide format gives you useful carrying space without turning into an oversized holdall, while long, hand-finished rolled leather handles make it comfortable to carry by hand or over the shoulder. At 1.22kg, it combines the easy access of a tote with the structure and organisation of a proper travel bag.

Everything In Its Place

The Scrambler keeps the things you actually carry organised and within reach. Inside there’s a padded device pocket, zippered valuables pocket, key anchor, pen pocket and two additional stow pockets. A soft fleece-lined front slip pocket keeps your phone or keys handy without leaving them rattling around with everything else. Carry it by the leather handles or clip on the included S40 Sling when you want your hands free.

Heritage-Grade Natural Materials

We craft bags from heavyweight beeswaxed canvas, genuine brass, and premium full-grain leather, delivering authentic quality, sustainability, and enduring style that matures beautifully rather than deteriorating.

Built Where It Counts

The body is cut from 16oz beeswaxed cotton twill, finished with semi veg-tanned leather at the points that take the punishment. That includes bottom-corner scuff pads, a leather-edged top seam and reinforced sling anchors. Solid brass hardware and rivets are used where needed, while the 50cm opening runs on a luggage-grade YKK Woven-In Tough zip designed for high-abrasion use. It’s considered construction rather than decoration.

Beautifully made bag. Perfect for randomly chucking your stuff in - but with a modicum of organisation - for a cheeky overnighter, a trip to the beach with your bestie, a run to the shops for that picnic, etc. Love it.“

Made To Wear In

The Scrambler isn’t meant to stay looking untouched. Waxed cotton develops marks and character through use and can be re-waxed when it needs renewing. The leather handles, edging and reinforcement pieces will soften and develop their own patina, while solid brass hardware ages rather than losing a plated finish. It’s a bag designed to be used, maintained and kept in service rather than replaced when it starts showing where it’s been.

Pack Up And Go

Commute during the week, throw in an overnight change on Friday or take it aboard for your next flight. The Scrambler is deliberately versatile: organised enough for work, roomy enough for a short trip and good-looking without needing to be treated carefully. Use it, mark it up and make it yours.

FAQs

Waxing canvas is a natural way or protecting the fabric and whoever is under it. The wax finish causes water to bead off instead of soaking into the fibres. The advantage is that this method of proofing the fabric also allows it to breathe, unlike the plastic treatment options found in waterproof fabrics. Want to know more? Read this article.
